Cosmetologists in the state of Texas MUST complete 4 hours of TDLR-approved continuing education every two years from an approved CE provider like Coursemax, in order to renew their Manicurist License. Course must include:
- 1 hour in Sanitation
- 3 hours in Cosmetology-related topics like:
- Understanding and Mitigating Chemical Exposures in Nail Salons
- Business Management
- Mental Health Awareness
- Human Trafficking Prevention
For those who have held their licenses for at least 15 years, the only CE requirement is to to complete a 1-hour Sanitation course. The additional three hours of continuing education will be waived and will not be required.
Coursemax will electronically file a course completion report to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) within 24 hours of completing your course.
